Organized by and for young professionals and students, this conference showcases the leadership, innovation, and technical abilities of YWPs in the water sector. Under the theme “Bridging Communities, Shaping the Future of Water Together,” the event offers an exciting platform to develop professional skills and expand networks through technical sessions, a poster competition, hands-on workshops, and valuable networking opportunities. It is an in-person event gathering passionate and enthusiastic young water professionals (under age 35).

Please submit your abstract through our online submission portal. Click here to submit abstract.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION LIMIT
An author can only submit one abstract for Oral and one for a Poster presentation. Co-authors must present different papers.
ABSTRACT TEMPLATE AND CRITERIA
Please limit the length of your abstract to two pages, including tables and figures following the template below.
FINAL PRESENTATION SELECTION
The acceptance decision is based on a peer review process with scoring and commentary from our professional Canadian reviewers.
PUBLICATIONS
Selected papers will be peer-reviewed for publication in IWA Publishing’s Water Science and Technology or Water Practice and Technology journals. Specifications for the formatting of papers are available on the IWA Publishing website.
Awards
All conference presenters identified as YWPs (aged 18-35) will be considered for 4 awards:
YWP Award 2025
The YWP Canada award will be given to an individual YWP with outstanding contributions to the water sector based on leadership, performance, contribution, vision and accomplishments. Selection will be made by a judging committee considering the score and comments. YWPs can be self-nominated or nominated by others.
