1 – Is there any financial assistance, such as a travel grant, for attending/presenting at the conference?

Unfortunately, we don’t have any travel funding support. But based on country, we have tailored our registration fees so that participants from low-income countries pay less than those from high-income ones. Fees can be found here.

2 – How do we register for the conference?

3 – What is the deadline for abstract submission?

Thanks a lot for your interest in joining the conference. We accepted abstracts submission via our online portal until Feb 15. It is closed now. Sorry! Hope to see you next time.

4 – How and when I will get a decision on the submitted abstract?

Thanks a lot for your interest in joining the conference. The committee is working on the abstracts. Once we finalize the list of abstracts, we´ll reach out to the presenters.

5 – How do I get an invitation letter for Visa?

Please note that we’ll send an invitation letter to only the presenters for Visa purposes. So, if you submitted an abstract and you are waiting for the decision, I’m sorry to say that you have to wait a bit longer. We’ll reach out to you as soon as we have the final decision.

6 – Will the conference committee provide accommodation?

The conference committee has reserved some rooms at a discounted rate at the conference venue (limited rooms). If you would like to avail this opportunity, please book it yourself and pay yourself (first come first served basis). Here’s the booking link: IWA YWP Conference Discount. 7 – How do I get to the conference venue?

8 – Will the conference be Hybrid/online?

This will be an in-person conference happening at UBC Vancouver campus

9 – Is there a presentation template?

Presentation template will be distributed to the presenters in due time

10 – I just want to attend the conference, but not presenting. Can I come to Canada to join?

Yes. We will be happy to have you with us at the conference. However, please note that we’ll send an invitation letter to only the presenters for visa purposes. So, If you are an international participant outside of Canada, you’ll need to arrange for Canadian Visa to enter Canada. We are unable to help you with Visa process information.

11 – Do I need to have a paper to present at IWA YWP conference?

You do not need a paper to present at the conference. Conference presentation decision will be based on your submitted abstract. Upon abstract acceptance, the presenter/authors will be invited to submit a full paper. This submission is highly encouraged but not mandatory for the conference presentation.

12 – Can I come to Canada with US visa?

No. If you are an international participant outside of Canada, you’ll need to apply for Canadian Visa to enter Canada. Unfortunately, we cannot help you with visa process information. Please note that we’ll send an invitation letter to only the presenters for visa purposes once we finalize the list of presenters based on the submitted abstract.
