At the 60th Central Canadian Symposium on Water Quality Research, hosted by the Canadian Association on Water Quality (CAWQ), IWA Young Water Professionals (YWP) Canada member Sami LeValley chaired a dynamic and forward-looking panel session titled “The Future of Water/Wastewater Research and the Intersection with Operations and Career Implications.” The session featured five distinguished panelists from diverse sectors within the water and wastewater field: Dr. Stephen Liss (Toronto Metropolitan University), Dr. Laura Yu (Mitacs), Dr. Genevieve Peters (ECO Canada), Prasoon Adhikari (City of Kitchener), and Adriano Mena (Regional Municipality of York).
This engaging session offered attendees a multifaceted understanding of how research and operations are converging and what this means for the future of water professionals in Canada and beyond.
